Privacy Policy
Get Raised In is a language-learning app at getraisedin.com. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you can see or delete it. The short version: we keep what we need to run your lessons, we don't sell it, and there are no ads or tracking.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and the name you choose. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email, first name and a Google account ID.
- Your learning progress: the scenes you play, what you type in them, your words, mistakes, homework and grades, minutes practised, and settings like your daily goal.
- Sign-in and safety data: a session record with your browser's user-agent, and your IP address, kept briefly to limit repeated sign-in attempts.
- Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, your email and the language you're waiting for.
How we use it
- To run your lessons, save your progress and show you your Klassenbuch.
- To sign you in and keep your account secure.
- To send emails you ask for (sign-in links) or expect (waitlist and invite messages). No marketing emails without your consent.
Who helps us run it
- Railway hosts the app and its database.
- Resend delivers our emails.
- Google handles “Continue with Google” if you choose it, and serves the fonts the site uses.
They process data only to provide those services. Read-aloud uses your own browser's built-in voices, so what you hear isn't sent to us.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in, plus a short-lived one during Google sign-in. No advertising or analytics cookies.
Your choices
- Download your data anytime from Klassenbuch → Account in the app.
- Delete your account from the same place. This permanently removes your account and all your progress.
- Questions, corrections or requests: email hello@getraisedin.com.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and progress until you delete them. Sign-in links expire after 20 minutes, and sessions after 180 days.
Age
Get Raised In is meant for people aged 16 and over. The “childhood” in the app is a way of learning, not a product for children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and let account holders know by email.
